Minerva Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Baking pan No.32
3 glasses of Minerva organic extra virgin olive oil
3 glasses of water
2 glasses of sugar
sesame, cinnamon, entire white almonds
approximately 1 kilo of flour
1 handful of semolina
1 Boil the water with the sugar for 10 minutes and make sure it stays warm
2 Put the Minerva organic extra virgin olive oil (after having kept two fingers worth from the third glass) into a shallow saucepan on the fire to heat
3 Then slowly add the flour, so much so that it becomes a very dense mash and constantly mix it with a wooden ladle or spatula always doing so at a medium temperature until it takes on a golden-blond colour
4 Then slowly add the hot syrup and continue mixing until the fluids are absorbed
5 A tender halva should now be formed
6 Lay it out of the baking pan after having sprinkled it with sesame and apply pressure to it so that its surface straightens out evenly
7 Sprinkle with sesame, carve the pie into rhombus-like shapes and insert an almond into each rhombus that has been formed
8 Cook at medium oven temperature, for approximately one hour
9 Use a knife to see if the dough can be removed from the walls of the baking pan
10 If this occurs then the pie is ready
11 Sprinkle with cinnamon and a little sugar
12 Cut the pie into pieces once it is cold.
