Ingredients
- Baking pan No.32
- 3 glasses of Minerva organic extra virgin olive oil
- 3 glasses of water
- 2 glasses of sugar
- sesame, cinnamon, entire white almonds
- approximately 1 kilo of flour
- 1 handful of semolina
Step by step directions
Step 1
Boil the water with the sugar for 10 minutes and make sure it stays warm.
Step 2
Put the Minerva organic extra virgin olive oil (after having kept two fingers worth from the third glass) into a shallow saucepan on the fire to heat.
Step 3
Then slowly add the flour, so much so that it becomes a very dense mash and constantly mix it with a wooden ladle or spatula always doing so at a medium temperature until it takes on a golden-blond colour.
Step 4
Then slowly add the hot syrup and continue mixing until the fluids are absorbed.
Step 5
A tender halva should now be formed.
Step 6
Lay it out of the baking pan after having sprinkled it with sesame and apply pressure to it so that its surface straightens out evenly.
Step 7
Sprinkle with sesame, carve the pie into rhombus-like shapes and insert an almond into each rhombus that has been formed.
Step 8
Cook at medium oven temperature, for approximately one hour.
Step 9
Use a knife to see if the dough can be removed from the walls of the baking pan.
Step 10
If this occurs then the pie is ready.
Step 11
Sprinkle with cinnamon and a little sugar.
Step 12
Cut the pie into pieces once it is cold.
